Mark 16:15 (King James Version)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Bro. Melvin Copeland
North Talbotton Church of Christ
Talbotton, Georgia
Northeast of Columbus GA is Talbot County and its County Seat Talbotton.
Towards the north end of town you’ll find the Church of Christ, nestled into a
small community where it has been since around 1978. For almost all of that
time, the congregation has been led and taught by Brother Melvin Copeland.
Brother Copeland with his wife Nina have always worked full-time as they raised
their three children while Bro. Copeland dutifully performed the “work of an evangelist” (2Tim 4:5).
Brother Copeland continued diligently preaching God’s gospel and grooming the
faithful brothers until failing health would no longer allow it.
Please remember to pray for this work, the diligence of the local brethren, and for Brother Allen.
South Thompson Street Church of Christ
Deland, Florida
Brother Lorenzo Hannah and his wife Peggey, now residing in the Deland Florida area, are well known to the brethren at Cusseta Road, West Georgia, and East Alabama. We have beheld and benefited from his zeal for and skill in preaching “the unsearchable riches of Christ” (Eph 3:8) for more than three decades. Brother Hannah is currently the Evangelist at the South Thompson Street Church of Christ in Deland Florida and has served the congregation for approximately four years. In that time the congregation has more than doubled though it remains small. We believe that the South Thompson Street congregation is indeed blessed to have a man who not only knows the word of God but is committed to living accordingly.
For about four years it has been a privilege for our congregation to provide support to Brother Hanna as he seizes every opportunity in the Deland Florida area to enlarge the Kingdom of God. According to Brother Hannah, the congregation has a busy, evangelical summer planned to include collaboration with the Florida School of Preaching and a door-to-door campaign.
We pray that God will continually bless Brother and Sister Hannah as well as the congregation wherein they labor.
James K. Stephenson, Minister
Biabou Church of Christ
St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Under the leadership and teaching of Brother Stephenson, the congregation meets and worships regularly and maintains a very present outreach to the local community.
Island life has been recently interrupted due to the eruption of La Soufriere, the island’s previously dormant volcano which last erupted in 1979. The island has therefore been largely evacuated. Our congregation has provided additional special aid to relief services that will go there and assist our brethren.
Please pray for the welfare of our courageous fellow Christians and the population of St Vincent.
